In 8 Steps Learn How To Get Perfect Skin The secret to younger looking skin How many women do you know who look years older than their actual age? Regardless of whether they spent too much time in the sun, smoked heavily, didn’t exfoliate or take proper care of their skin, the result is the same. Their skin is dry and wrinkled long before it should be. Is it possible to keep your skin looking young? Of course it is. The secret to younger looking skin is really no secret at all. Here are 8 steps on how to get perfect skin that I give to my clients in the salon to help them look younger. Drink plenty of water. Doctors recommend everyone drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water each day. It really does help your skin stay young. Avoid overexposure to the sun. If you must be out in the sun, be sure to wear sun protection or put on a sun block. Be sure you wear a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. There are water block sprays available as well. Always remember to re-apply if you get wet or if you sweat. Do not smoke. It isn't good for your lungs and it isn't good for your skin. In fact, people who smoke are more likely to get several different cancers than people who don't smoke, including lung and oral cancer. Use moisturizers and emollients to keep your skin moist. When applying a moisturizer it is best to apply it while your skin is damp. Be gentle with your skin. Use lukewarm water to wash your face, and do not rub hard. Also be gentle when applying make-up. Aging In A Healthy Manner There is one thing for certain, aging. Aging in a healthy manner is something we can aspire to do. The skin ages in two ways. One is through the natural process of chronological or intrinsic aging. The other is through exposure to daylight called photo-aging. Chronological aging is determined by genetics and choice of lifestyle. Photo-aging is preventable and caused by exposure to sunlight. There are many obvious changes seen as the skin ages. They include wrinkles, hyper and hypo-pigmentation, broken capillaries, dehydration, thinning of the skin and a breakdown of collagen and elastin. Modern science is diligently working to address both the chronological and photo-aging of the skin. With the development of peptides, retinols, vitamins and green and white teas, the aging process can be slowed down and repaired in many instances. These newer ingredients, amongst others, have created a “buzz” in the skin care industry. Combine these ingredients with an effective broad spectrum sun block of spf 15 or higher, and a huge difference can be seen and felt in the texture of the skin. Speaking with a licensed esthetician is your best bet in choosing the right skin care products. Aging gracefully, is a goal to work toward in your daily skin care regimen.
